The Anti-MacGyver Award

So some of you may remember that a little while ago I nominated myself for a MacGyver Award. Well, in the middle of all of the craziness of us moving in two weeks and Jenni's family moving to Tucson, my car decided to have a problem that would turn out to be a lot bigger pain than I thought it would be. I won't go into the details, but here's a picture of all of the crap I had to pull off the car to get access to a single wire. And the answer is "Yes, it was just as big of a pain is it looks".

But on a positive note, the NFL season started this week, so I'm excited and the fact that my fantasy football team is ripping it up this week doesn't hurt.

Update: I just noticed that there's a problem with my template when there's a long picture with minimal text to the side (it just overlaps the next post), but I'm too lazy to try and fix it right now, so I'm sorry but you'll just have to live with it for now.

Holy cow, that looks headache-y.

Ya, but the worst part is that that was the second time I've had to do that in the last week or so.
I also find it amazing what one bad wire can do in a car these days and even more amazing how much crap you have to go through to get to it.

I think you probably still deserve the MacGyver award, because I can't even fathom deducing a problem to be the fault of a single wire, nor having the guts to disassemble my vehicle to get to it.

I think you still deserve the MacGyver award for effort. If something falls off my car (and that's a lot of things these days), I usually just throw it away if I can't figure out where it came from.

To be completely honest I didn't think I had the guts/know-how to do it either, but when it's blazing hot outside and your sick of your car not working you'll start doing crazy things. But most of all, I'm just glad that everything still works and that I only had 1 screw left over when it was all said and done.

At least you have upgraded cars since I last saw you. Thanks for all the rides back in college btw. I also was excited the NFL season started until my fantasy football team sucked this week. I started Steve McNair who score me a whopping -4 points and had Eli on my bench. SUCK!!!! (this is Erin Johnson from BYU btw. Yeah I check your blog!

Sadly that car isn't that much of an upgrade, but it gets good gas mileage and gets me to work. The problem with your fantasy league isn't that you had Eli on the bench but that you drafted a member of the AARP as your starting QB.
