Horrible!

Anyone catch Oprah today? I watched the first 5 minutes - almost puked -and then turned it off. I felt horrible for the next hour. If you didn't see it, consider yourself lucky. I can't even explain what the topic was because it makes me throw up. What's with Oprah lately? Can we just stick to the celebrity interviews/performances and fashion shows? Those are my fave...

I didn't see it today because I stopped watching Oprah last year due to 3 pukers in a row! Seriously, the first one was about, well, I won't go into, but I thought, well, that was weird (after the first 10 minutes I turned it off), then the next day, I was hoping for something better, and it got WORSE! So I said to myself, she gets one more chance tomorrow- and she FAILED! So, I stopped watching and stopped recording it. I don't like when I get yucky thoughts in my head for days when it's supposed to uplift and make me feel better! Join the anti-Oprah club with me- I feel so alone! :)

The website says it was about sex predators. That can be kind of a creepy topic, but I'm not sure it would make me puke! Is this what freaked you out? I guess it wouldn't be much fun to watch if you were expecting an uplifting show, for sure!

Oprah did a show like that before. I found it very interesting. It was to inform parents to be aware of all the gross sick people out there. They talk about the sign parent should look for. I think it’s important to be educated on things that are scary like Oprah talked about, sex predators.
When I saw her show along time ago, I was sick for a week but glad I learned about what kids might have to face. I just hope my kids are strong enough to stay away from bad kids.

Our society has gotten so evil. The world is trying to break people and families apart.
I remember hearing a conference talk about 1 out of every 5 men (LDS) are addicted to porn, or have looked at it sometime in there life. Yes that is so sick! Don’t be blinded. I have 4 really good friends that their husband had that problem. They went on missions, married in the temple and even active. Three of my friends from California are no longer married to those creeps. I didn’t even know that stuff happened until my best friend Angie, had it happen to her. She is doing ok, but I don’t think she will ever marry again. The sad part is, she has two cute kids.

That is my thoughts!

I agree, you need to be informed... it's just SO HARD to hear these things especially when you have kids of your own.

yes, the topic was sex predators/child sex abuse. The horrific part was the talk of babies...they went into detail that blew my mind.

Yes! I only lasted about 3 minutes before I was almost in tears - I looked at the info on the show to see if I was interested and thought that I would be - I also think it's good to be educated, but she too it a HUGE step too far!!!! It's good for us to be aware of what's out there, but I don't need to know what and how to do what child molesters do!!! I have seriously been praying to help me get these thoughts out of my head because it's been bothering me so much. I am sickened that so many of the women in the audience were crying so early on in the show. Sick sick sick. I could go on all day about it!!!

Yes Julie me too! I have uttered more than 1 prayer to forget about what I "learned."

i had it on tivo and after reading the info, didn't even turn it on before deleting it. i just cant stomach that. i think there are better ways of informing yourself then letting oprah commercialize it.

i dont love oprah, but seriously, where would me life be without an occasional bra intervention and her favorite things?! :)

I'm glad someone else saw the show. I called my mom the next day (I had it recorded and watched it really late) to express how disgusted I was. My MIL saw part of it and walked out of the room, she couldn't believe that Oprah would horrify her audience like that. I'm surprised she had an audience by the end! The material was rather graphic, to say the least, but a good topic. The second half of the show was really good and way more informative! I don't know why she started off so strong and vulgar. I think she would have reached way more people had she reversed the order of the show. That way she got her point across and saved her TV viewing audience some pain. She really wants people to go to Oprah.com for information to write or call their senator so a bill passes to fund police with the money to pick up more predators and clean up the streets.
