Chicken Tortellini Casserole

So, a couple times a week I try to cook a "real" meal (Apparently, McDonald's isn't good for you on a regular basis). The leftovers from these meals tend to feed us on the days I don't cook - so it's a nice easy transition into being a homemaker I think (not having to cook EVERY day).

What I am trying to say is that I found a yummy casserole recipe that was so easy to make! Maybe you "real" homemakers out there have already had this one but if not be sure to try it. It only has 5 ingredients.

* 9 oz. pkg. refrigerated tortellini
* 2 cups frozen broccoli, thawed and drained
* 10 oz. container refrigerated four cheese alfredo sauce
* 10 oz. pkg. refrigerated grilled chicken breast strips
* 1/3 cup soft bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook tortellini according to package directions and drain. Combine with broccoli, sauce and chicken in large bowl. Transfer to 1-1/2 quart casserole dish and top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes or until casserole is bubbling and bread crumbs are browned. Serves 4.

This recipe is really adaptable and simple. I used a jar of alfredo sauce from the grocery store (not refrigerated). You can also grill your own chicken which would be much cheaper. I did give in and buy the pre-done stuff because it just makes it that much easier when you are trying to hurry and get something on the table.

So try it out, and hopefully you'll like it.

Beware that this is totally comfort food. NOT LOW CAL.

Sounds yummy, I just wish I liked alfredo sauce....I'm going to try it out though and see if it passes the Burns kids test. If it does, it's a keeper!
