Jill's Blessing

On Sunday, September 26th we blessed Jill in the Malaga Cove Ward - the ward I grew up in.  It was a beautiful day.  Jill looked so adorable in her dress and I felt really special to have so many people from my family and Dave's family there.  It is probably the most family we've had together at one time since Dave and I got married.  After the blessing we took some pictures outside.  I thought they came out really nice!

Our little family is growing! ;)  We are the luckiest parents to have these 2 cute kiddos.
The Johansen clan!  They made the longest trek to come to the blessing.  Some traveled from Utah, some Sacramento, and Cody from San Diego.  It was so nice that they were all there.
Some of my family that were there: Kenny & Kristy on the left and my Aunt Judy is holding Jill.   Next to Judy is her husband Steve, my Mom and Brian.  My Aunt Judy is my Dad's twin sister.  I love her so much.
My older brothers and my Mom and I.  Haven't had a picture of just the 4 of us in a while.  It was so nice of Brian to come down.  He lives just down the street from me AZ but made the special trip out anyway.  My brothers have always supported me and I really appreciate that.  It really means a lot.  Thanks, Brothers!
Here's the beautiful princess in her long white dress.  ;)
My Mom bought Jill her blessing dress.  I loved it so much! Thanks, Mom!
Just 3 months old and cute as can be!  We are so lucky!

Dave gave Jill a lovely blessing.  Standing in the circle with him were: David (Dave's Dad), Devin & Cody Johansen, Jon Wilson, Brian and Kenny Burns, Steve Baldwin, Mike Mathison, Wayne Tuttle, and Bishop Hoopes.  It was a big group!

After church, we headed to my Grandma's house to eat and visit and cool off in her pool.  We had hamburgers and potato salad and enough dips for the world.  Just so you get an idea - we had guacomole, salsa, onion dip, spinach dip, and 7 layer dip.  It wouldn't be a Burns party without a bunch of dips!

Speaking of dips. One of my goofball brothers - Kenny - went to change into his swimsuit and walked out of the bathroom in his new Speedo.  He strutted through the room as if it was no big deal.  I know secretly he had a smile on his face though.

We are so grateful for our Jilly Bean and the light she brings to our lives.  It's amazing how much family will get together when a new little baby is here!
