So I finally got the new template all done. It seems that there's still a quirk with it (the first post goes all the way to the end of the sidebar), but hopefully I can fix that.
If you want, feel free to use this new layout. It's setup so that you can use the standard stuff to change all of the colors, and I'll see if I can post the XML file with the template somewhere for easy access.
Update: I fixed the problem. It turns out that the template that I based mine on was inserting some "clear divs" that caused problems with the way I did the fluid layout. So the problem should be fixed now.
