"The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov
It's definitely a sci-fi/geek story and it gets a little long in the middle, but it's got a really interesting idea to it and will definitely make you think a little.
I think that I still like the idea behind "I, Robot" better, but this was definitely a good one.
